Youth Summer Jobs

Youth unemployment in Ontario just hit 17%.

That's ten per cent higher than everyone else. Way too many young people can't find work.

Ontario's NDP are putting forward a Youth Summer Jobs Plan.

Here's how it works:

If you're under 30 and looking for a summer job, you can get connected to one. Either a paid job in your community for the summer, paid training that gets you hired somewhere, or a placement where an employer gets help to hire you and cover your certifications.

These are real jobs, working at parks, libraries, summer camps, daycares, planting trees, fixing infrastructure.

Stuff your community actually needs done.

And you get paid a real wage. Not minimum wage. The province gives municipalities and businesses the money to pay you properly.

Doug Ford can pass this. All he has to do is say yes.
