Respect Road Users And Cities

To the Legislative Assembly of Ontario:

WHEREAS, safe cycling infrastructure reduces congestion, promotes active transportation, and protects cyclists, pedestrians, and drivers;

WHEREAS, the number of vulnerable road users killed in Ontario is increasing every year — devastating families and our communities;

WHEREAS, blocking municipalities from approving new bike lanes undermines local decision-making and limits transportation options;

WE, the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to:

  • Respect municipal authority to approve cycling projects without interference;
  • Support infrastructure that ensures all road users get home to their loved ones alive;
  • Commit to policies that reduce accidents and protect vulnerable road users.
