Scrap the tax on groceries + Enforce competition = Lower grocery prices
WHEREAS food prices are out of control, in part due to the allowance of grocery stores to use agreements that limit and block competition; and
WHEREAS Ontarians deserve access to food at fair, stable, and transparent prices; and
WHEREAS Bill 113, 'Fair Prices and Tax-Free Groceries Act, 2026' would remove the HST from all food and beverages, including prepared meals, helping Ontarians save money immediately; and
WHEREAS Bill 113 would also strengthen competition by banning the use of restrictive agreements that limit and block competition;
