WHEREAS, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour stop in Toronto has shown that Ontario’s ticket resale market is broken because of bots, dynamic pricing, and unregulated platforms;

WHEREAS, platforms like Ticketmaster encourage price gouging, with tickets being resold for thousands of dollars above their original prices;

WHEREAS, countries like France, Italy, and the Netherlands have successfully implemented measures to fix broken resale markets, making it cheaper for fans to see concerts;

WHEREAS, Ontario’s arts, culture, and sports sectors need equitable funding and better government support to thrive, ensuring small artists and local venues can continue to flourish in Ontario;
