WHEREAS Exhibition Place is an area with historical, cultural, and emotional value for many Ontarians;
WHEREAS the Ontario Exhibition, held at Exhibition Place, is a unique opportunity for Ontarians to gather, share agricultural and craft expertise, eat creative foods, and have fun together;
WHEREAS the Ontario Government’s 2025 Fall Economic Statement includes a clause that brings the Exhibition Place lands under the purview of the Rebuilding Ontario Place Act, allowing them to quietly seize control of the land;
WHEREAS this government has shown themselves to be untrustworthy with public lands, often turning them over to private companies at great cost to taxpayers;
WE THE UNDERSIGNED PETITION THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ONTARIO TO remove the clause in the Fall Economic Statement that brings the Exhibition Place grounds under the Rebuilding Ontario Place Act and to keep their hands off of Exhibition Place!
