Ban Predatory Surveillance Pricing

To the Legislative Assembly of Ontario:

WHEREAS grocery prices have gone up by 30% in Ontario in the past five years,

WHEREAS large corporations and grocery giants are partnering with American tech companies to use AI-powered algorithms to charge people varying prices based on their personal data, such as browsing history and past purchases,

WHEREAS families are spending up to $1,000 more to buy the same food across different grocery stores because of these practices,

WHEREAS practices of predatory pricing have been banned by the Government of Manitoba, improving purchase transparency, customer privacy, and legal accountability,

Will you sign?

We, the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to ensure fairness and protect Ontario consumers by immediately banning predatory surveillance pricing.
