Join Labour leaders and activists at Queen’s Park for the Tabling of the OFL Petition.

 

On Monday, May 25, 2SLGBTQIA+ advocates and allies are showing up at the Ontario Legislature to make their voices impossible to ignore. RSVP here to join them and make your voice heard!

Hundreds of pages. Thousands of signatures. One clear message: 2SLGBTQIA+ communities deserve protection, dignity, and expanded access to care, housing, education, and safety.

The Ontario Federation of Labour’s Petition to Protect and Expand Access for 2SLGBTQIA+ Communities will be formally tabled in the Legislature. Sign up to pack the visitor’s gallery and witness it together.

Agenda

11:45 AM - Arrival at the Visitor’s Entrance

• Staff will meet you after security and escort you upstairs to the caucus boardroom.

• If going independently, the NDP Caucus Boardroom (Room 351) is on the third floor, in the centre of the building, right before the wood flooring transitions to mosaic tile.

 

12:00–12:45 PM - Reception in the NDP Caucus Boardroom (room 351)

• Light refreshments will be served. Feel free to bring your own lunch.
• Connect with community members, labour, organizers, and allies.

 

1:00 PM (approximately) Presentation of Petitions

• Guests will move to the Members’ and Public Galleries.
• Watch the petition be formally presented during Afternoon Routine.

• Leave your personal items (phones, coats, bags) with staff to be securely held and returned after petition tabling is complete. They will remain in the caucus boardroom.

To watch proceedings in the Legislature, you must be pre‑registered as a visitor.

Please use your preferred name on the form.

 

What to Know Before You Come

Entering the Legislature

• Arrive early for airport‑style security screening.
• Enter via the Visitor’s Entrance, just east of the main doors (south side of the building).

Please Note

• No banners, placards, or demonstration materials allowed inside.
• Clothing with political messaging, union logos, or offensive slogans is not permitted.
• Food and liquids are allowed.
• Bring government‑issued photo ID.

Name & ID

• Your legal name does not need to match your preferred name.
• Use the name you RSVP’d with when checking in.
• Visitor badges will not display your name.

If you have not legally changed your name or gender marker, that is completely okay. Security should not ask questions, and staff will support you as needed.

When security asks for your name, please share the name that you used on the RSVP form so that they can find you on the list. Please use your preferred name on the RSVP form.

 

Parking

For parking, there is public paid parking available in the surrounding area.
