Streetcar Track Reconstruction on Bay Street From Elm Street to Edward Street

This was posted more than 12 months ago. The information may be outdated.

The City of Toronto and the Toronto Transit Commission are replacing the streetcar tracks on Bay Street from Elm Street to Edward Street.

To accommodate this work, from April 25 to May 2 Bay Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction from Dundas Street West to Elm Street while TTC crews weld streetcar rail. There will be no through access on Edward Street right turns between Edward Street and Bay Street will be permitted. From May 2 to 22, Bay Street will only have one southbound lane from Elm Street to Dundas Street West. This work is required to bring the track infrastructure to state of good repair so TTC can accommodate diversionary routing for other construction projects in 2016. This project is part of the Council-approved 2016 Capital Works Program.
