Metrolinx Open Houses

In support of the transit investments, Metrolinx is launching region wide public consultations in mid-February.

Metrolinx is combining consultations in order to make it easier for residents and stakeholders to learn more about a number of projects that will enable transit expansion. These sessions will allow you access to information on the benefits and impacts to your communities and the region.

Downtown Toronto Meeting will be held:

February 24th, 2016 6:30 PM- 8:30 PM

at Metro Toronto convention Centre- North Building, Room 203

255 Front Street West

Projects to be discussed at these sessions include:

  • Electrification of the GO Rail Network: Electrification of Metrolinx-owned rail corridors will enable more frequent and faster train service.
  • New Stations on the GO Rail Network: Today 64 GO train stations serve thousands of customers and six more are under way. We would like to add even more stations so more people can access transit.
  • Integrated Transit Fares: We want to make crossing municipal boundaries and switching between transit systems simple and hassle-free.
  • Regional Transportation Plan Review: Metrolinx is launching the formal review process for the Regional Transportation Plan, which guides the work being done to transform the transportation network in the GTHA.

Metrolinx will also be engaging with the public through an online engagement process. will allow the public to view the presentations and provide their feedback. The site will go live on February 16th in conjunction with the first Open House. This is another way for the public and stakeholders to participate in the public consultation.

If you have any questions regarding the Open Houses please contact Metrolinx Team Lead of Stakeholder Relations, James Harvey at [email protected] or 416-202-5574.
