This morning, Toronto Fire Services (TFS) attended a fire that broke out in a unit on the 15th floor of 650 Parliament Street. Contractors working on the restoration of the building noticed smoke, and immediately flipped the fire alarm. TFS was on the scene within 3 minutes, and had the fire extinguished within 20 minutes.
TFS responded to the report of a fire at 650 Parliament Street. The fire was contained to the unit of origin and there were no injuries. The TFS Investigations Division is on scene with the Electrical Safety Authority conducting an investigation into the origin, cause and circumstances of the fire.
It is too early to speculate what the total damage this fire did, or if this incident may impact the move-in dates for tenants. We will continue to request updates from TFS, the Electrical Safety Authority and the Landlord and will provide any information we can as it becomes available.
